IYC ALUMNI ADVISOR/LAISON
Donald E. Reed (1989 - 1995)

He received his B.S. is speech communication in 1994 and a M.S. in Counselor Education in 1997. Both of his degrees were obtained while attending Illinois State University. He served as a member of IYC from 1989 to 1995.  Donald had the honor of serving as an Assistant Director from 1992 - 1995.  He can honestly say that IYC was one of the main constants that kept him on track throughout his academic career. Since 1995 Donald has been an advisor to the choir. His church home since 1992 has been Mount Pisgah Baptist Church where Frank L. McSwain Sr. is the Pastor. For the past year, he has served as Head Director of the Mt. Pisgah Adult Choir. He believes that it is the training that he received from IYC and the continued assistance that is still enjoyed to this day from friendships that were born while a part of the choir that has prepared him for such a task. Donald enjoys serving the Lord. Presently, Donald is working at ISU's University Housing Services as an Area Coordinator. Donald has been a part of UHS since 1997. There are many verses that motivate him, but the one that gets Donald through every seemingly "bad situation" is Romans 8:28. According to Donald, "anytime you come against something that may seem insurmountable just remember Romans 8:28 (all things work together for the good of them who love the Lord and are the called according to His purpose)". It is Donald's wish that God blesses you, and that you stay encouraged.
